Times are hard for all of us. Staying cooped up within four walls and not being able to go out…it’s hard. But then again, there are people who have it harder. There are people dying, every day. There are doctors, and nurses and policemen risking their lives every day. There are people suffering, writhing from starvation. And we have a roof above our heads.
It’s natural to feel depressed or sad. But it’s unfair to remain so. It’s unfair on your mind, your body, the people who love you. Sadness, like happiness, is contagious. Sad environments tend to dull the glow in your eyes.
So, when you feel sad…just close your eyes, and think of everything that you are grateful for. It might be for the delicious food you ate, for the award you won, or simply that you are alive and healthy.
This helps, it really does. As one of my sisters once said, “Sometimes we tend to lose ourselves in all the noise. Being grateful helps us find ourselves again.” There are so many things that are wrong in the world today, but there are so many things that are right as well.
The world’s population has increased due to the death rates declining and birth rates increasing. This is taken as a matter of national concern, the exploding population. But why do we fail to see the bright side? Fewer people are dying. Every minute, there are new parents in this world. Let’s be happy about that.
There is a raging pandemic…thousands are dead. But nature is alive, in all glory. (I know this is a bit cliché) Let’s be happy about that.
These were simple examples. There is so, so much more to be happy about.
That was all from my side. Even when life seems hard, a smile can make it all right. Happiness is contagious. One happy person, one grateful person makes the world a better place.
It’s true when they say, “Contentment does not make you grateful. Gratefulness makes you content.”
Life is amazing. Live it to the fullest.

Totally totally agree with you Trisha! Sometimes we need to remind ourselves to be grateful as we tend to forget that! A well written article relevant in all the times, also need of the hour.

Can’t agree more. Gratitude is key to happiness in life. Do we realise, how much effort by how many farmers has gone into placIng that plate of rice on your table? Another example is air, have we ever expressed our gratitude, air stops blowing for req seconds and all the living beings will be gone. We have taken so many important aspects for granted. Just be grateful, you will be always happy. Well thought out, and grateful you are thinking on relevant lines. God Bless

So true, Trisha. So true…
Love this message…I kind of really need it right now.
It’s kind of our human nature to put more focus on the negative, so we should see the positive a little more…
Love the positive a little more. Be grateful for what we have. And love everyone and yourself a little more( I believe a friend once told me that…)And yeah, happiness is contagious…especially when you’re laughing…I believe it is a defense mechanism…anyway, I love the last quote. Beautiful. And here, you as a happy person, are making the world a better place.
Thank you.
So true…so very true…

I knew you needed it. I am a happy person, and I am trying to change the world, but not alone. WE are doing it together. Everyone who knows me and believes in me. Gratefulness can give you that little string to hold on to. It’s a way out from negativity. Let’s be simply grateful. Rock this world.
