Times are hard for all of us. Staying cooped up within four walls and not being able to go out…it’s hard. But then again, there are people who have it harder. There are people dying, every day. There are doctors, and nurses and policemen risking their lives every day. There are people suffering, writhing from starvation. And we have a roof above our heads.

It’s natural to feel depressed or sad. But it’s unfair to remain so. It’s unfair on your mind, your body, the people who love you. Sadness, like happiness, is contagious. Sad environments tend to dull the glow in your eyes.
So, when you feel sad…just close your eyes, and think of everything that you are grateful for. It might be for the delicious food you ate, for the award you won, or simply that you are alive and healthy.

This helps, it really does. As one of my sisters once said, “Sometimes we tend to lose ourselves in all the noise. Being grateful helps us find ourselves again.” There are so many things that are wrong in the world today, but there are so many things that are right as well.

The world’s population has increased due to the death rates declining and birth rates increasing. This is taken as a matter of national concern, the exploding population. But why do we fail to see the bright side? Fewer people are dying. Every minute, there are new parents in this world. Let’s be happy about that.
There is a raging pandemic…thousands are dead. But nature is alive, in all glory. (I know this is a bit cliché) Let’s be happy about that.
These were simple examples. There is so, so much more to be happy about.

That was all from my side. Even when life seems hard, a smile can make it all right. Happiness is contagious. One happy person, one grateful person makes the world a better place.
It’s true when they say, “Contentment does not make you grateful. Gratefulness makes you content.”
Life is amazing. Live it to the fullest.
